Gauntlet

Gauntlet is the first NES port of the top-down classic arcade shooter. You control either the barbarian, elf, valkyrie, or wizard. You must traverse each map looking for the exit to the next level. Various types of monsters must be battled along the way, and food must be consumed in order to stay alive. Potions can be used to blast large amounts of enemies, keys will get you through locked doors, and treasure is collected to advance in levels. The NES port adds a puzzle element by adding a password to get to the final villain, a password that you can only uncover by finding each secret level and properly solving them.

Text

Gauntlet has a good amount of text. It has a full ending as well as plenty of quips by the evil wizard. The text is quite simple to work with.
