Super Mario Bros. 2 is a reworking of the Japanese game [[Yume Koujou Doki Doki Panic]]. The original [[Super Mario Bros. 2 J|Super Mario Bros. 2]] was never released in North America for the NES, but it did appear on the SNES game Super Mario All Stars under the title, The Lost Levels.
