Vinyl cover.

A Day At the Races is the fifth studio album by Queen. It was released on 1976-12-10 on vinyl and produced by Queen themselves without the help of Roy Thomas Baker. The album uses strong glam rock and progressive rock themes with an over all hard rock sound. Like A Night At the Opera before it, this album has a Marx Brothers title, uses a monochromatic motif, and features powerful rock anthems intermixed with plenty of lighter fare.

Despite being my fourth favorite Queen album, this was one of the last Queen albums I bought, though, I'm not sure why. I knew the songs Tie Your Mother Down, Somebody to Love, and Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy from greatest hits albums, but I quickly began enjoying the new songs.
