The Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) is an Internet show created by James Rolfe. In the show, Rolfe portrays a character known as the "Angry Video Game Nerd" who plays and reviews video games and things related to video games using off-color insult humor. Rolfe began filming himself reviewing video games in 2004, but didn't publish them online until 2006. The show was originally titled the "Angry Nintendo Nerd," but, as Rolfe branched out into other video game platforms, he renamed it to better fit the content. Many episodes of the show include Kyle Justin who created the show's theme song and Mike Matei who plays many of the masked characters.

I began watching the AVGN before its name change, back around 2006, and I have been a fan ever since. I enjoy the low-quality production levels that Rolfe uses in his videos which often includes cheap special effects and costumed characters from the games he reviews. I was especially honored in the Desert Bus episode of 2014 where the AVGN favorably reviews a translation hack I made for Castlevania II: Simon's Quest.
