Anytime is an alternative rock song by Eve 6. The song was not released on any of the band's albums, but was instead included on the 2001-11-20 soundtrack for the film Out Cold, where the song is track 1. The song was composed by Max Collins, Jon Siebels, and Tony Fagenson. On the soundtrack recording, Collins plays bass and sings vocals, Siebels plays guitar, and Fagenson plays drums. It was produced by Don Gilmore.
The song is about the strong emotions and self-destructive behavior a person feels after a breakup, along with the contradictory desire of still wanting to get back together with the person you can't stand.

Personal
I have never seen the film this song was included in, and, since it was never released on an Eve 6 album, I didn't even know it existed until I downloaded a collection of Eve 6 songs and it turned up in them. I'm pretty sure I liked the song right away, but I know I found the lyric "kiss your apocalypse" a bit childish until it finally dawned on me that it was a play-on-words of "kiss your apoca-lips," then I appreciated it more. The song quickly became one of my favorites from the band and I was disappointed that they didn't play it when I first saw them in concert. However, I later learned the song puts undesired strain on Max's vocals so he can't sing it live much. However, the three subsequent concerts I saw of Eve 6 included the song, so, maybe he found a way to sing it without hurting his vocal cords. I've always hoped Eve 6 would release a greatest hits album with this song included on it so I could have a high-quality version of it. The heavy drum beat, head-banging guitar, and intense emotions in the lyrics make this the perfect song for me to drive to. I love blasting it with the top down on a hot summer afternoon.
Lyrics
Gonna get in the car with a smile and the burn, That I put on my arm the day you went away girl, And I probably won't come back around again. (One, two) Gonna get in the car with a smile and the burn, That I put on my arm the day you went away girl, And I probably won't come back around again. I'm gonna drive all night through the red lights flying, Over the hill to the county line blind, Forgetting to forget that you're not mine. Kiss your apoca-lips for the last, last time, Runaway, runaway, runaway, I can't find. Anytime you think it changed your mind. Anytime you want. Jump back to me anytime, Jump back to me anytime, Jump back to me anytime. Come back one more time, anytime. There's a place where I go to take the edge off the day, When the radio's up, your face fades away. Flicker, flicker, dimmer, fade to black. With a backpack packed, and a mug and a map. Gonna drive too fast, gonna not look back. Light the night with a blowtorch and a match. Kiss your apoca-lips for the last, last time, Runaway, runaway, runaway, I can't find. Anytime you think it changed your mind. Anytime you want. Jump back to me anytime, Jump back to me anytime, Jump back to me anytime. Come back one more time, anytime. Got no time, reason, or rhyme, Not gonna stop, gonna ride all night. Got no time, reason, or rhyme, Not gonna stop, gonna ride all night. Got no time, reason, or rhyme, Not gonna stop, gonna ride... Anytime. Jump back to me anytime, Jump back to me anytime, Jump back to me anytime. Come back one more time. Kiss your apoca-lips for the last, last time, Runaway, runaway, runaway, I can't find. Kiss your apoca-lips for the last, last time, Runaway, runaway, run, run, run. (Two) For the last, last time. (One) For the last, last time. For the last, last time. (Two, one) For the last, last time.
