Ask an Atheist Day is an annual event held on the third Thursday in April which is used to spread awareness about atheism. The event was first observed by the Secular Student Alliance in 2011 in February, but subsequent years moved it to April. Attempts have been made for a September observance to make the event biannual. On the day, atheists are encouraged to openly declare their atheism and encourage non-atheists to ask them questions about what atheism is and what it means to them.

I have been involved in several Ask an Atheist events. I usually make a post on social media encouraging friends and family to ask me any questions they might have about atheism. The event is usually very popular and I get a lot of questions and enjoy answering them. I encourage all atheists to partake in the event.
