Astronomy is the science which studies objects in space.

I became a fan of astronomy as a young child. I remember looking NASA's planetary photos in my science textbooks and trying to draw them out by hand. I also saw a laser show in a planetarium when I was really little and loved it. I always enjoy talking about it and seeing the progress scientists have made in the field. Scientists like Carl Sagan, Meghan Gray, and Neil deGrasse Tyson really help add to the wonder and excitement of the science, and seeing photos of celestial objects, especially high-resolution photos, humbles me. I have read several popular science books on astronomy and took a free online college class for intro to astronomy. I've never considered a formal career in astronomy because I've preferred computer science, and, as Brian May once said, very little of astronomy is looking at the stars, instead, it's mostly mathematics.
