Commercial

Commercial is a software distribution model where the publisher expects a user to buy software before it can be used. This is one of the oldest and simplest distribution models, although, it has been losing ground with the advent of adware, micro-transactions, and the like. I tend to prefer free software in what I use on a day-to-day basis, but the majority of the software I have used in my life is commercial.

Personal

Although I love free software, I recognize that the creators need to make a living too, so I have no qualms with buying good software, especially if I agree with the motives of the creators.
