Connections is a television series written and presented by science historian James Burke. The series educate viewers on the history of science and technology by showing how seemingly unrelated events are actually connected. Burke also wrote a companion book and read for an abridged audio book. The series is interesting in the fact that it includes a lot of reenactments and provides working models for many of the technologies described, something that would later be seen in Carl Sagan's Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. After the success of the documentary James Burke went on to film The Day the Universe Changed, Connections 2, and Connections 3.
