DragonLance is a fantasy world created initially by Tracy Hickman, but expanded by Margaret Weis, Douglas Niles, and many other authors. The world contains various media including Dungeons & Dragons modules, books, movies, and more.

Most of my nerdy high school friends were really big into the series, and although I was also really into fantasy, I found the number of novels too intimidating to begin reading the series. Instead, I began with the Tales books, not reading the core novels until my 30s when they seemed too juvenile to really appreciate.
