Futurama

Futurama is an animated comedy television show with a science fiction theme. It first aired on 1999-03-28 and initially ran for five seasons. In 2008-2009, four feature-length direct-to-video films were made which rekindled enough popularity in the series that it was brought back to television on 2010-06-24, but it only lasted another two seasons. Like with many popular shows, a lot of additional media was created for the series.

Personal

When I first saw commercials for Futurama I was unimpressed. The art style was too close to The Simpsons, and I wasn't too impressed with the jokes, so I didn't bother watching the show. When I did finally see an episode on television, it wasn't until the third season (The Birdbot of Ice-Catraz), and, without any knowledge of the characters, I found it to be a bit off-putting. It wasn't until after the show was taken off the air that I downloaded the series and began watching it from the beginning that I finally started to appreciate it. Now I find it to be one of the best animated shows ever made.
