How to run Flash is a guide for running a Flash program now that most browsers have not only discontinued support for it, but actively block Flash programs from running.

Use Flashpoint

Flashpoint was created to preserve Flash games. They can be played by downloading the app which creates a virtual Flash environment on your local computer. The program also has an extensive game browser.

Run Flash outside of a browser

Adobe created the Flash Player Projector Content Debugger for Windows which lets you run Flash programs without having to embed them into a browser. This used to be available online, but Adobe stopped providing it, but you can download the latest version on my page.

Ruffle

Ruffle is a Flash emulator written in Rust. It can be run as a browser extension or loaded on a web server so visitors without the extension can still run Flash applications. It handles all the basic Flash commands, but doesn't yet implement Flash 100%. For the latest information, check the web site: ruffle.rs.

Install an old browser

If you have a lot of free time, you can find and install an old version of a Web browser and the latest plugin version of Flash. It's best to install a browser that is different from the one you're currently using in order to prevent a version conflict. Note that this is a severe security violation as most old browsers have known exploits. If you plan to take this route, I would suggest creating a virtual machine and ensuring your virtual does not have access to any other computers on your network.
