Informationoid is a neologism I coined on 2020-06-01 to describe things which appear to be information, but are not information. I created the word because I couldn't find an existing term in information theory which had this meaning. The word is composed of "information" and the suffix "-oid" which means, "with similar form, but not the same as," and has the same structure as humanoid, asteroid, epileptoid, etc. An example of something that is informationoid is DNA.
