Living In America is the first studio album by The Sounds, released on 2002-11-11 on CD. The album mixes the synthesizers of 1980s new wave with post-punk revival. The songs are mostly about partying and relationships.

After I listened to Crossing the Rubicon, I sought out more music by The Sounds and found this album. Although the songs are not nearly as polished as Crossing the Rubicon, I still found a lot of really enjoyable songs. One thing I don't like about the album is Maja Ivarsson's use of the interjection "ha" in several songs.

All songs are credited to "The Sounds," which, at the time, included Felix Rodriguez, Fredrik Nilsson, Jesper Anderberg, Johan Bengtsson, Maja Ivarsson. All songs are sung by Maja Ivarsson. Later releases include the song S.O.U.N.D.S. The American release has an alternate track order.
