Made In Heaven is the fifteenth studio album by Queen produced by Queen and David Richards. It was released on 1995-11-06, four years after Freddie Mercury died. Freddie was adamant in his last days of recording to get a final take on as many songs as possible, and the band honored that desire by releasing several posthumous songs on this album. Unlike previous Queen albums, Made In Heaven features multiple songs not originally written for the band, but it still features the very Queen style of spanning several genres, but ultimately having a rock sound. Like The Miracle and Innuendo, this album has a strong introspective feel to it compared with Queen's earlier albums. This album also has some experimental tracks like You Don't Fool Me and the untitled 22-minute-long Track 13.
After I bought this album and began listening to the songs, I wasn't immediately interested in it, and, knowing that Freddie was recording songs like Too Much Love Will Kill You, knowing he would be dead soon, made me rather emotional. So, for awhile after buying the album, I kept it shelved and focused on Queen's earlier prog rock and arena rock songs. Later, after becoming more receptive to Freddie's end of life songs, I listened to the album properly and really appreciated the sadness it provokes.
