Microsoft Card Games (universe)

Microsoft's Solitaire.

Over the years, Microsoft published several card games for the Windows operating system. Most were video game adaptions of various forms of solitaire, but a handful were multiplayer games. All these early titles were side projects written by Microsoft's developers and had the quality you would expect from a developer without professional game experience. It wasn't until the release of Windows Vista in 2007 that Microsoft hired a third-party developer to remake several of their games with a common style. Then, for Windows 8, several solitaire games were entirely remade again (with the older versions deleted in the upgrade process).
