About dialog.

Pegged is a video game version of various peg board solitaire games. The program was developed by Mike Blaylock and was published by Microsoft in their Microsoft Entertainment Pack For Windows for Windows 3 in 1990.

My family's first computer came with the first Entertainment Pack which included Pegged. I played dozens of times and even recorded the winning moves for the arrangements I was able to beat. However, because the game is so simplistic, I haven't bothered to try and beat all of the arrangements.

Status

I do not own this game, and I have not beaten the more difficult arrangements.

Review

  • Overall: 2/10
  • Best Version: Windows 3

— This section contains spoilers! —

Good

  • The game accurately enforces the basic rules of peg solitaire.
  • It's nice that the game includes several additional arrangements rather than just the traditional one.

Bad

  • Games are very short. A skilled player can beat all the arrangements in a couple of minutes.

Ugly

  • There is little in the way of media. There is no music, sound, or animation. No title graphics, no ending sequence.
