Weezer - Pinkerton.jpg

CD - USA - 1st edition.

Artist Weezer
Published 1996-11-24
Type Studio
Genre Emo, Alternative rock
Themes Relationships, breakups

Pinkerton is the second studio album by Weezer. The band produced the album themselves and purposely didn't put as much studio polish on the songs in order to obtain a rawer sound. It was released on 1996-11-24 and did quite poorly compared to their first album. It was the last Weezer album to feature bassist Matt Sharp. The music genre is primarily alternative rock and emo and the theme of the songs is mostly about dating and breakups.

Personal

Own?Yes, CD.

After becoming a pretty big fan of the blue album, I listened to several songs on Pinkerton and was quite disappointed by the abrupt change in sound. I found the first half of the album to be so distorted and noisy that I could barely listen to it, so I abandoned the album for awhile. However, after listening to some of the songs on the second half, I started appreciating them over time.

Track Listing

All songs written by and sung by Rivers Cuomo.
