Personal

Being a huge fan of Rilo Kiley, the band Lewis was in at the time, I got this album shortly after it was released. At first, I didn't much care for the country sound and subdued music compared to Rilo Kiley, or the rather odd-phrasing in a lot of the lyrics, but as I listened to it, it slowly grew on me. The lyrics questioning theism and pointing out religious hypocrisy, while at the same time using religious idioms, are also quite enjoyable. I saw Jenny and company perform live twice when she was touring for this album.

I own this album on vinyl and on CD signed by Jenny Lewis and Chandra and Leigh Watson.
