Samorost is a very short graphical adventure developed and published by Amanita Design as a free browser game in 2003. It was written in Flash. It was later ported to Macintosh and Windows.

In the game you guide a little space-faring gnome who is trying to prevent another space ship from crashing into his own.

Personal

Own?No. The game was never sold.
Won?Yes.
FinishedAround 2010.

After a friend of mine told me about The Polyphonic Spree: The Quest for the Rest and this game. I'm not sure which I played first, but I played them both back-to-back and beat them in the late 2000s.

Good

  • The backgrounds are meticulous and beautiful. It's clear a lot of time was spent in a photo editor. There are also nice animations.

Bad

  • Although the sound effects are decent, I would have liked some background music.

Ugly

  • The game is too short. Sure, it's free, so you shouldn't expect much, but it still only takes a couple minutes even if you've never played it before.
