Sharp X68000
The Sharp X68000 is a series of 16-bit personal computers manufactured and sold by Sharp in Japan from 1987-1993. The name is based on Sharp's previous generation of computers, the Sharp X1, and their new CPU. It was a very capable multimedia computer for the time with the first model shipped with two built-in 5.25" floppy disk drives. In Japan, it competed with the the dominate platform, the NEC PC-9800 series, and, to a lesser extent, the FM Towns.
All computers in the series use a Motorola 68000 CPU, a complex, but power GPU, and a Yamaha YM2151 and Oki MSM6258 for sound.
Personal
I didn't learn about the Sharp X68000 until I started seeing it on MobyGames in the early 2000s. I still haven't done much with the system because everything is in Japanese, so it's difficult to make any headway on the system.
I've never owned a Sharp X68000 or used one in real life.
