Sopwith is an airplane shooter game created by BMB Compuscience in 1984 for DOS. It was updated a couple times with new versions.
I first played the Red Baron version of this game in a shovelware release by Keypunch Software. This version appears to be identical to the original release, just with a different name.
Status
I do not own this game, but have beaten the Red Baron version.
Reviews
- Overall: 3/10
- Best Version: DOS
Good
- For the time, the game is pretty cool. You can make permanent craters in the landscape with your bombs, have a dogfight with an AI opponent, and bomb enemy targets.
Bad
- The game is challenged both graphically and audio-wise.
- The AI is extremely difficult due to its suicidal nature.
Ugly
- There just isn't much to this game. Even the updated version is kind of dull.
