The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle is a detective short story that is part of the Sherlock Holmes series by Aurthur Conan Doyle first published in January, 1892. This work is now in the public domain.
The story is about a Countess who is robbed of a blue jewel and a reformed thief who expresses his innocence being charged with a crime that Sherlock Holmes finds elementary.

A coworker loaned me this a copy of this which they got as a free audiobook. Because Sherlock Holmes is such an seminal fictional hero, and I have loved many works of fiction based on the character, I was eager to listen to it.

I didn't find this story to be very interesting, perhaps it's just the time gap. And, while I like the idea of a crime-fighting genius like Holmes, I found a lot of his abductions to be awfully far-reaching.
