The Baroque Cycle universe is a semi-fictional universe created by Neal Stephenson. The stories take place throughout Earth's history from the 1660s to the 1990s, and focus on dozens of important historical figures like Isaac Newton and Alan Turing, and how they created new forms of mathematics, cryptography, economics, computers, and the like. However, several fictional characters are added and fictional events take place which add intrigue.
