Tokuma Shoten
Tokuma Shoten Publishing Co., Ltd. (株式会社徳間書店, Kabushiki gaisha Tokuma Shoten) is a Japanese publishing company which was established in 1954. Over the decades, they have published numerous magazines, comics, and books, and, for a while, they published films and video games. They have worked closely with Disney, Nintendo, Studio Ghibli, and Work House.
Personal
Due to my interest in Japanese video games, Tokuma Shoten's name kept showing up. Although I have little interest in the company itself, I like a lot of their published works, so I decided to make a page for them in this Wiki to better see how they're works are tied together.
Works
This is a collection of the published works of Tokuma Shoten that are important to me:
Films
Tokuma Shoten owned Studio Ghibli from 1985 to 2005.
Video Games
Tokuma Shoten published video games in Japan from around 1984 to 1999. They no longer publish games, but they occasionally license out some of their brands to be made into games.
These are the games Tokuma Shoten worked on that are important to me. For all games published by Tokuma Shoten see the category.
Hint Books
Tokuma Shoten worked closely with Nintendo and published the majority of their hint books during the 8 and 16-bit eras.
