In the first Ultima game, the Ultima logo was the word "Ultima" in the typeface [[Victorian]] with the "m" stylized to have the third leg curve below the baseline and terminate in a point. For the second game, the logo was given a metallic look, and the tittle above the "i" was increased in size. The third game used a new title art, but the back of the box features the Ultima logo stretched slightly taller (this logo was also used on the Ultima I remake). The fourth release removed the dips at the top of the "U" and "i". This is the most commonly used logo of the universe, used for games 4-8, both Underworld games, the Runes of Virtue games, and various other titles. Strangely, the two Worlds of Ultima games used the original logo. The ''Ultima Online'' series had its own logo used on most of its titles. The ninth game used new Ultima logo, and the Ultima Online series adopted it on Lord Blackthorn's Revenge.

Ultima is a game universe created by Richard Garriott, and later through his company Origin Systems. The first Ultima game was published in 1981. The series spanned dozens of games, soundtracks, comic books, and more.

My first experience with the series was from the NES game Ultima: Exodus, which I really loved, despite its many flaws. A middle school friend later showed me Ultima VII: The Black Gate and I was utterly blown away. I own every major Ultima game and have played nearly all of the non-canon games as well.

In the first Ultima game, the Ultima logo was the word "Ultima" in the typeface Victorian with the "m" stylized to have the third leg curve below the baseline and terminate in a point. The Ultima Online series had its own logo used on most of its titles. The ninth game used new Ultima logo, and the Ultima Online series adopted it on Lord Blackthorn's Revenge.
