Welcome to the Warp Zone is video game themed song by Dead Workers Party and released as a digital single on 2013-11-20. All of the lyrics of the song are quotes from assorted video games. The lyrics sound like they were placed to fit the meter of the song rather than try to make any coherent sense, as they change style and game genre haphazardly. However, the mellow vocals and music give the song a total coherency.
A couple of the lyrics were altered, either as an error, or to make them better-fit the meter of the song. In Super Mario Bros., the warp zone message reads "welcome to warp zone," with the official video accurately displaying the message, but the lyrics include the expected "the." Also, the video uses footage of the original arcade release of Gauntlet, however, in the arcade game, the narrator doesn't say the color of the characters, it's only in the NES port, Gauntlet II, where the narrator might say, "blue wizard is about to die."

Stay a while, and listen. It's dangerous to go alone. Do a barrel roll. You spoony bard. And welcome to the warp zone. You must construct additional pylons, just to be with me tonight. Would you kindly... Save me! Stay frosty. And wake me when you need me. They call me Gato, I have metal joints. Beat me up and win 15 silver points. Welcome to your doom. Hadouken. Sonic Boom. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? The right man in the wrong place, can make all the difference in the world. C-C-C-Combo breaker! Fus-ro-dah! Boomshakalaka! M-M-Monster kill! Blue wizard is about to die! War. War never changes. By the gods, what have I become? I feel asleep. Get over here! You were almost a Jill sandwich! Congraturation. This story is happy end. You and your friends are dead. |
