Wii
The Wii is a seventh generation home video game console developed by Nintendo and manufactured by Foxconn and first released by Nintendo on 2006-11-19. The Wii uses wireless tracked motion sensitive controllers (known as Wiimotes) which allowed for a unique form game play at the time. Games were primarily distributed on a proprietary miniDVD optical disc, but could also be ran digitally. The Wii was especially popular, selling over 101 million units. The system also was the first of Nintendo's to feature an online store where customers could purchase games from older systems and play them in an emulated form on the Wii.
The console has a custom CPU called Broadway which is essentially a 32-bit PowerPC 750CL clocked at 729 MHz. The GPU is a custom ATI Hollywood clocked at 243 MHz.

Personal
Although I never bought a Wii, several of my friends did. However, by and large the most common game I ever saw being played was bowling from Wii Sports. Although I was interested in the Wii, I never even considered buying one. I liked the idea of the Wiimote for some games, but I found the controller to be very uncomfortable for traditional games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
I do not own a Wii and have only limited experience with them.
